Staff Electrical Engineer Manufacturing
Who are we looking for:
The Staff Electrical Engineer Manufacturing is responsible for managing electronic component designs used in Precision and Vehicle Electronics Hardware through Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principals and methodologies.
Your key responsibilities:
Integration of designs into partner or contract manufacturers processes of industrialization
Responsible for manufacturability so far as cost/quality/timing
Responsible for optimized manufacturing processes through manufacturing partners
Drive DFM/DFA principals through hardware design teams and related projects,
Managing manufacturing plans from prototyping through low/medium/high level production
Driving design elements toward optimized industrialization within external environments
Working with partner manufacturing capabilities as well as contract manufacturers within areas of SMT lines, selective soldering, pick and place, automation, potting, optical inspection, assembly, testing, etc.
Solving design and industrialization challenges in a global environment
Assessing risk efficiently and mitigate accordingly to achieve aggressive project and program schedules.
Your key competences and qualifications:
Principles of engineering and science attained through BS Engineering and manufacturing, technology or equivalent.
7+ years’ experience designing embedded hardware systems using microcontrollers/microprocessors with specific emphasis on design for reliability, design for cost.
7+ years’ experience manufacturing electronic component assemblies containing WiFi/BT chips, Power electronics components, DRAMs, LCD displays, touch panels, etc.
Working knowledge within ERP/MRP/PLM systems
Technical writing and presentation competence to advise management.
Tier 1 or 2 supplier manufacturing experience and or graduate level coursework a plus
Domestic and or international travel may be necessary, based on position.
US Citizenship may be required, based on position.
