Position Summary
The Customs Process Manager is responsible for all customs processes, activities, regimes andassociated compliance undertaken within Continental Cargo Carriers.
You will be responsible for recruitment, development and training of the team of people specifically tasked with the daily management of all inbound and outbound customs processes
You will ensure that the team works in harmony with other internal departments within Continental Cargo Carriers to ensure all parties are performing to the highest standard with a mind to ensuring ultimate customer satisfaction ensuring that SLAs are met.
You shall ensure conformity at all times to all associated regimes, Company policies and procedures and shall deal with non-conformance in line with those procedures. There shall be a close link to the Finance function in order that compliance with Continental Cargo Carriers financial policies and facilities is maintained at all times.
You are responsible for ensuring all customers comply with the terms and conditions of trade whilst transacting with Continental Cargo Carriers. This includes terms of payment. Managing those clients correctly either directly or through the broader team to ensure that the customer performs to our expectations whilst maintaining a strong, healthy and supportive relationship with those customers
Responsibilities/Position in structure
The essential duties and responsibilities of the CPM will be the achievement of a successful end-toend process, the recruitment, development and retention of the team.
You insure the highest standards of customer service in order to build solid and profitable relationships with new and existing customers.
You manage and motivate your team with effective and open communication, to ensure that they achieve their targets.
You attract, build and retain the very best quality of staff within the team and ensure that they are equipped with the right skills, knowledge, competencies to delight customers and achieve business results.
You understand and implement Company policies, procedures and practices in order to correctly manage the team and the business being operated and managed within that team.
You develop strong working knowledge and relationships within the organisation – possess strong networking skills in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
You report performance statistics to the Director in line with the prescribed interval to ensure all targets and processes are achieved.
Your profile
5 years of experience in management within a customs environment, preferably having an expertise of third country regimes and practices.
Experience of PDLA, Temporary Storage, Customs Bond, TIR and similar/associated processes.
Skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, customs processes, customs systems, PDLA regimes, issue and query resolution.
Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
