Customer Service - account manager

Position Summary:

  • As an account manager you will be responsible for specific accounts, from A-Z, from booking to Proof of Delivery

  • Taking incoming calls and answering customers with questions, complaints or change request

  • Answering customer questions on various matters (sales/operations/paperwork related).

  • • Reporting details to the sales manager

This is where you come in:

Within the customer service we need someone who understands the geography of Benelux, France, Germany, and UK. They need to be quick thinking and dynamic in their thoughts reacting to changing plans and will be challenged daily when something isn’t ready or cannot be collected.

You come into a world of quick decision making in favour of the company and in favour of the customer, finding the delicate balance… You will be able to practice your language skills (Dutch, French, German, English) every single day.

  • Is excited by the challenge of transport & logistics

  • Can think on their feet resolving issues and queries without continual support

  • Is interested in customs detail and the impact of customs processes

  • Exceptional communicator and with excellent customer service skills

  • Explores opportunities to increase rates and increase margin

  • Skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Preferably +2 years’ experience in transport relating to the UK market

  • Have geographical knowledge of UK and Benelux, France and Germany

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure the details of an order are correct so a shipments can be built accurately in the TMS

  • Understand the customs detail for export and import clearances ensuring the trailer combination offers the best transit time and trailer turnaround.

  • Communicate the customer’s special requests to the Operations department and follow them up

  • Book in deliveries with exporters and importers

  • Communicate delays and operational issues with customers

  • Work closely with Operations ensuring the customers get the best customer experience

  • Be responsible for the financial success of each customer

  • Follow-up on processes and documentation trained out through ISO9001 - QMS
