Assistant Transport Planner


Job Description


You will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team responsible for delivering the highest quality service to an international customer base.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the correct handling of all transport orders from P&O Ferrymasters' customers, linked to administrative and operational activities

  • Supporting in maintaining a correct and timely communication flow between Customer Service and carriers

  • Proper handling of all transport orders

  • Assisting in combining loads to optimize loading capacity, taking into account loading/unloading locations, customer preferences/requirements, specific load characteristics, and combined loading regulations

  • Providing support in recalculating dimensions, capacity, floor area, and volume to achieve maximum efficiency within legal standards

  • Communicating with drivers

  • Ensuring all changes, delays, additional costs, and/or emergencies are reported to the Customer Service department, which informs the customers

  • Providing support in determining which loads can be handled by our own fleet and which loads need to be chartered, to achieve an optimal balance for our fleet

  • Assisting in reducing miles by combining loads and searching for repositionable loads


Your profile

  • You have at least 2 years of specific work experience in a logistics role, preferably planner-related

  • You are a true team player and are detail-oriented

  • Very good knowledge of Dutch and English
